Minnesota Labor Law Updates

2018
Effective January 1, 2018, Minnesotas’ Minimum Wage increased to $9.65 per hour for large employers with gross sales of $500,000 or more per year and $7.87 per hour for smaller employers grossing less than $500,000 per year, this rate also applies as a training wage for employees under 20 for the first 90 consecutive days of employment and as a youth wage for employees under the age of 18.
2017
Effective January 1, 2017, Minnesotas’ Minimum Wage increased to $9.50 per hour for large employers with gross sales of $500,000 or more per year and $7.75 per hour for smaller employers grossing less than $500,000 per year, this rate also applies as a training wage for employees under 20 for the first 90 consecutive days of employment and as a youth wage for employees under the age of 18.
Effective August 1, 2017, Minnesota Workers’ compensation notice was updated.
Effective August 1, 2017, Minnesota Safety and health protection on the job was revised.
Effective September 1, 2017, Minnesota Age Discrimination poster was updated.
2016
Effective January 1, 2016, Minnesotas’ Minimum Wage did not increase, it will remain at $9.00 per hour for large employers with gross sales of $500,000 or more per year and $7.25 per hour for smaller employers grossing less than $500,000 per year, this rate also applies as a training wage for employees under 20 for the first 90 consecutive days of employment and as a youth wage for employees under the age of 18.
Effective August 1, 2016, Minnesotas’ Minimum Wage increased to $9.50 per hour for large employers with gross sales of $500,000 or more per year and $7.75 per hour for smaller employers grossing less than $500,000 per year, this rate also applies as a training wage for employees under 20 for the first 90 consecutive days of employment and as a youth wage for employees under the age of 18.
